The Rt Hon David Davis MP, Shadow Home Secretary:
"Britain has long experience of terrorism. We have joined together to fight it in the past. Now, we do so again. For now, the terrorism that walks the streets of London has no face. But whatever its origin, whatever its motive, our response is the same: the British people will not be cowed and the terrorists will not win...
This morning's explosions were acts of almost unspeakable depravity and wickedness - planned with the deliberate intention of taking innocent life. The whole House condemns them utterly. This is not just an attack on our capital city, but on our country as a whole. It goes without saying that the Government will have our full support in dealing with this assault upon our society. We stand ready with them to play our part."
I`m afraid I thought David Davis showed with his comments about the terrorist why he is simply not up to the task of being leader.
I don`t critisise the content but I`m afraid the wooden, lack lustare deliverey that totally lacked any passion was dreadful. In contrast to the Prime Ministers moving comments he just came across as someone who was just simply going through the motions.
Put him up against Blair or Brown and both will simply eat him alive.

Thats right Jack. Heaven forbid we have a leader who can make sober and rational statements at such a time. Much better to have a performer like Blair.

Actually I believed Davis's statement was extremely statemens like and was the best in the house, really summing up the dreadful attcks and our determination in the face of horror

Since he become shadow home secretary David Davis as opposed every measure the government have brought forward to combat terrorism. If the party is not careful New Labour are going to start accusing the party of being soft on terrorism and I`m afraid its a tag that could so easily stick!

"Since he become shadow home secretary David Davis as opposed every measure the government have brought forward to combat terrorism."
So were all those measures good ideas?

It is also, as Jack probably well knows completely untrue
