There's yet another story based on sources in Downing St in this week's PR Week. Sources say the tactics of Conservative Communications Director Andy Coulson are really getting under Gordon Brown's skin.
Coulson is credited with making the "ditherer" tag stick to Brown, undermining his trip to the US, and on a more personal level of spreading word of his depression. Brown apparently can't stop talking about him as a result.
The piece rightly notes the important roles of press veterans Henry Macrory and John Deans in managing the media operation.
The magazine also has an account of the rats-jumping-the-sinking-ship effect coming to play:
"Hordes of senior Labour special advisers are said to be passing their CVs to headhunters and recruitment consultants amid concern that their stock is falling."

Is that fear I smell?

As long as he's 'obsessed' by Coulson and not looking at why he's tanking I'm happy.

All vindicates bringing Coulson in and Coulson's subsequent decision to get rid of the deadwood in Cameron's press team.
It seems incredible now but Cameron effectively operated for two years without a senior press handler.
Media presentation now is like chalk and cheese compared to those days.

Broon and us Conservatives need to forget all about a General Election in 2010,because Broon and Labour will not even see out this year in Government, never mind them lasting until 2010.

It's nice to see that Coulson is using his stint with the Tories to improve his personal profile at their expense rather than do anything of substance.

Brown appears driven by hatred... of Blair... of Mandelson... of Cameron... of Coulson...
NOTHING good can come of that.

How typical of Brown to be obsessing about the Tories rather than looking at the problems he is creating for himself.

A very wise man once said, “Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate, leads to suffering.”

I always thought Yoda was overrated.

Brown is obsessed with.......
That's the problem, he is a man of obsession. Far from having a vision, he has an obsession with being he one in control, for having everything his own way.
Like all control freaks, at heart he is scared to death of every decision he maks.

An Israeli doctor said, ' Medicine in my country is so advanced , we can take a kidney out of one person, put it in another, and have him looking for work in six weeks.'
A German doctor said, 'That's nothing ! In Germany we can take a lung out of one person, put it in another, and have him looking for work in four weeks.'
A Russian doctor said, 'In my country medicine is so advanced, we can take half a heart from one person, put it in another, and have them both looking for work in two weeks.'
The English doctor, not to be outdone, said 'Hah ! We can take an arsehole out of Scotland, put him in 10 Downing Street and have half the country looking for work within 24 hours.'

He must be feeling a total prat by now. Wonder what his wife is saying to him over breakfast.

Just goes to show very clearly indeed that Labour still believe that everything is about spin and spin doctors and nothing is about their failing policies, incompetence, dishonesty and unfitness to govern.
So long as Cameron doesn't fall into the same trap then we really can rejuvenate a jaded and untrusting electorate and convince them to vote, and vote Conservative, again.

It was Quentin Davies, Jake.
Completely agree. What a prat.
