Dear Tories,

The editor asked for positive feedback.

At the risk of sounding patronising, may I, as a Labour supporter, offer the following?

1. Cameron does a brilliant job as a spokesperson being interviewed on the media. If I were a Tory - I'd refer people to the Newsnight special.

2. He's the first leader to actually make inroads into your image as a nasty party.

3. You have, for the first time in ages, a LEADER - not a follower of old polls and old beliefs but someone who'll get out and makes the case for what he thinks. Listen to the content of what he's talking about - I can't see why some Tories are so upset by him.

4. Somehow, somehow there was a recent poll putting the Tories ahead on the NHS after all the Government spent on it. Capitalise on that why don't you?

The country needs a strong opposition and while I'm glad that it's been the Conservative Party for the last 10 years - your widespread infighting and leader baiting makes for a very unedifying spectacle.

No advice from Labour supporters, please. As for what's wrong, the so-called "decontamination" exercise is out of control and is now itself contaminating policy. Trying to woo the flaky centre, the tory leadership has alienated the core and forfeited the support of the aspirational C2s. This is the consequence of mulling over all those lost liberal votes in 05. You will never get them back by fostering their doubts; by insisting that they are right to find you and your other supporters "nasty". You will merely confirm them in their increasingly decided and tribal lib-demmery. Faint heart ne'er won fair Britannia.
