It was in January that Jill Kirby left the Centre for Policy Studies. After exploring the possibility of an outside appointment the Board of the Centre has chosen the veteran CPS insider Tim Knox as its new Director.

Tim Knox commented:

“I am delighted and deeply honoured to be appointed. The CPS is in my blood. Under my Directorship, the CPS will boldly advocate much-needed policies for UK growth and for a strong nation.”

That reference to growth is important. ConHome understands that the CPS aims to style itself as a leading force for new thinking on economic growth. That has certainly been the focus of recent CPS papers including last week's thoughts on productivity growth from Ryan Bourne.

Good luck from everyone at ConHome to Tim in his new role.
