Author: John Redwood MP

Publication Date: 9 October 2009

John Redwood argues that the banking crisis in the UK was primarily a home grown crisis. Redwood claims that the credit boom under Labour was built on a false economy rather than real, sustainable growth. Redwood calls for the state-owned banks to be split up into smaller institutions and for the Bank of England to assume regulatory powers over the UK economy.
