Cameron gets a good deal in Europe AFTER announcing an In/Out referendum. Could it be possible that these two things are connected?

The Guardian insists that the deal is proof that we can triumph in Europe if we engage with other leaders and build alliances.

I'm not so sure that's the full story.

I wonder if a deal that was thought impossible just two months ago became possible when other EU leaders came to realise that Britain might leave in a 2018 referendum if Brussels didn't start living in the real world?
