The sad neglect of conservatives.com

Matthew Barrett has already noted the Lib Dem cock up of the day - attacking the *Coalition" Autumn Statement before quickly (and dishonestly) retreating. It reminds me of Nick Clegg's bigot-gate gaffe. But at least the Lib Dem website has a positive, compaigning message about the Government's announcements on its homepage. Compare and contrast the splash on the LD website (top) with the Tory website...

The Lib Dem website has a clear message. The Tory website is cold and uninviting.

You may not think this matters. Even the Lib Dem effort is hardly BarackObama.com. Few people visit conservatives.com but we should be aiming to change that, not accept it. A party machine that was at the top of its game wouldn't have such a rubbish website. An attractive, dynamic web presence - aiming constantly at gathering email addresses - should be one of the party's campaigning priorities. Conservatives.com isn't just disappointing today. It's disappointing nearly every day.

The last entry for the Blue Blog on the party website was more than two months ago.

The party should be investing in a much more radical internet strategy. I've made my recommendations here.

Go to the Labour website and their message - like the Lib Dems - is clear too:
