Tim Montgomerie

Fortunately nothing earth shattering in the latest secret recordings of Lib Dem ministers by The Telegraph:

  • Ed Davey, a junior minister at the Business Department, warns that changes to housing benefit will "put people below the breadline".
  • Michael Moore, Scottish Secretary, warns that the tuition fees u-turn is the "worst crime a politician can commit, the reason most folk distrust us as a breed" and that he couldn't work for Tory politicians like Liam Fox "for very long".
  • Steve Webb, Pensions Minister, conceded that the Lib Dems needed to "assert our identity" because the Coalition risked looking "a bit too cosy".
