The Blitz spirit reigned at CCHQ during this afternoon's protests

By Jonathan Isaby

WARSI Sayeeda Contrary to rumours elsewhere on the internet, I am reliably informed that CCHQ was not evacuated this afternoon as the student protests turned ugly outside the party's Millbank HQ.

All staff did in fact remain in the office at all times, with party co-chairman Baroness Warsi there throughout, keeping in touch with the police and able to give reassurance to staff.

I am told that it was very much the spirit of the Blitz which reigned, with people making cups of tea for each other and not allowing the fracas outside to interfere with them getting on with their jobs. Good for them.
