I shall be sleeping with a Cabinet minister this weekend and some farm animals

By Tim Montgomerie

No more blogging and tweeting from me until Monday. Jonathan Isaby and Paul Goodman will be running the site.

I'm off to Ethiopia for 48 hours with the Secretary of State for International Development, Andrew Mitchell.

As well as some meetings with the Ethiopian government and overseas aid charities we'll be spending Saturday night and Sunday in a small village. The 'immersion' with a farming family living on a $1-a-day is being organised by Action Aid. The experience includes sleeping in a home shared by the farm animals.

It's my first visit to Africa and I'm greatly looking forward to it. I'll upload a full report and photographs next week.
