As David and Samantha Cameron introduce baby Florence to the press, they thank the public for all their good wishes

The Camerons did a photocall for the world's media on the steps of Downing Street this morning with their new daughter, Florence Rose Endellion.

David Cameron released a brief statement, saying:

"Samantha and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their kindness and generosity since the birth of baby Florence. We have been really, really touched by all the people who have offered their warm congratulations, and by the many cards, gifts and flowers that we have received."
