David Cameron boosts his personal press team in advance of the election
With the general election likely to be held three months' tomorrow, I learn that David Cameron has boosted his personal press team.
Gabby Bertin remains the leader's Press Secretary, alongside existing press officer Caroline Preston - but they are now joined by a further press officer, Alan Sendorek.
He has worked for several of the big beasts in the shadow cabinet over the past few years, including David Davis, Chris Grayling and, most recently, Michael Gove. He was also heavily involved on the press side on the ground at the by-elections in Crewe, Henley and Norwich.
With Mr Cameron now spending more time out on the road as the election approaches, I understand that Alan will principally be working on day-to-day press bids, freeing up more of Gabby Bertin's time for dealing with matters more than one news cycle in the future.
Sendorek's replacement as education press officer working for Michael Gove and David Willetts is one-time Campaigns Manager for Reform, Henry de Zoete, who has latterly been working at Portland PR.
