Conservatives raised more than twice as much money as Labour in the final quarter of 2009
That's the headline from today's publication of the latest donations by the Electoral Commission.
Between October and December 2009, the Conservatives raised a total of £10,481,949 in cash and non-cash donations, against Labour's £4,962,886 and the Lib Dems' £1,055,717.
I will try and post a list of the major Tory donors after PMQs.
4pm update: Below is a list of those who donated more than £50,000 in cash to the Conservative Party during the period covered. However, during 2009 it should be noted that the Conservative Party broadened its base of donors, with a total of 1,037 individual cash and in-kind donations at a level requiring registration with the Electoral Commission - a 40% increase on the 742 cash and in-kind donations received in 2008, and more than five times the number Labour had (199).
NB: Labour now relies on the unions for more than 60% of its funding
