Tories up 4% (and 13% ahead) in new ComRes poll

The Others are on 10%; the Greens on 3% and UKIP and the BNP both on 2%.

The new poll confirms the hardening of the Conservative vote since the start of the year.

The Conservatives are now at 40% or more in all polls from the major pollsters:

• 41% according to Populus;
• 40% according to Angus Reid;
• 42% according to YouGov;
• 40% according to ICM;
• 43% according to Ipsos MORI;
• and tonight, 42% from ComRes.
