The straight-talking Theresa Villiers

The Shadow Secretary of State for Transport issued this statement yesterday in response to the ruinous decision of British Airways cabin staff to strike over Christmas:

"BA need this strike like a hole in the head. The cabin crew unions are damaging the interests of their members by pressing ahead with this strike and inflicting major financial damage on BA. The union needs to wake up to the realities of the 21st century aviation industry and the intense competitive pressure BA faces from no frills airlines with much more modern working practices."

I like Theresa's no-nonsense style.
