Conservatives 15% ahead at start of summer recess

YouGovForPeopleNot many bloggers read The People because we all missed a YouGov poll in yesterday's edition of the recently relaunched newspaper.  UK Polling Report has spotted the poll, however, and it shows the Tories 15% ahead at the start of the summer recess.

If you also missed Martin Ivens of The Sunday Times yesterday you missed this delicious quote:

"Labour strategists plan to keep [Gordon Brown] away from the cameras in August in the hope that absence will improve his ratings."

Not much of a strategy! At some point voters will have to see him again.
