Tories 17% ahead in ComRes poll

ComRes The previous ComRes poll was a pretty strange one, but the latest survey - for The Independent on Sunday - puts the Conservatives up 9% on 39%.  This puts ComRes back in sync with the other four main pollsters.

Three other findings:

  • 45% told ComRes that they still thought the Conservatives weren't ready for government.
  • 50% feared that the Conservatives would cut public spending "too much".
  • 43% agreed, 42% disagreed that "the Conservatives would be better than Labour at running the NHS, schools and other public services."
