The thirty cheapest Conservative MPs

I've said before I'd happily pay MPs a lot more if they delivered Gove-style reforms but for what it's worth Tory Teacake sent me this list of the cheapest Tory MPs according to use of expenses.  Philip Hollobone is the Manchester United of value for money and gets featured in the Sunday Express today:

  1. Philip Hollobone (1)
  2. Sir Nicolas Winterton (7)
  3. Desmond Swayne (9)
  4. John Randall (12)
  5. Sir John Stanley (13)
  6. John Bercow (15)
  7. Adam Afriyie (17)
  8. Richard Benyon (18)
  9. John Redwood (19)
  10. Andrew Pelling (21)*
  11. David Evennett (22)
  12. Sir Michael Spicer (23)
  13. James Brokenshire (24)
  14. Andrew Robathan (25)
  15. Iain Duncan Smith (28)
  16. Richard Shepherd (30)
  17. Michael Howard (31)
  18. Ann Widdecombe (32)
  19. David Lidington (34)
  20. Theresa May (38)
  21. John Gummer (39)
  22. John Whittingdale (40)
  23. Humfrey Malins (42)
  24. Michael Fallon (43)
  25. Sir Malcolm Rifkind (44)
  26. Lee Scott (46)
  27. Justine Greening (47)
  28. Caroline Spelman (48)
  29. Lady Ann Winterton (51)
  30. Greg Hands (52)

Numbers in brackets refer to the MPs' position in the 'league table' of all MPs.  Tory Teakcake's analysis was based on a Guardian spreadsheet of total expenses for 07/08.
