Alex Deane: The plank in your own eye, Archbishop
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, has used a column in the New Statesman to criticise the Coalition for pushing through policies without public debate, advancing positions for which nobody voted.
He speaks, of course, from a position of authority. As a communicant member of the Church of England, I well remember the Archbishop's triumph in the third ballot against my own preferred candidate.
