The above photo is not an April Fool!
The Daily Mail has reprinted a picture of Labour Deputy Leader touring her own constituency in a stab-proof vest. The Home Secretary is afraid to walk London's streets at night and Islington South Labour MP Emily Thornberry claims that most teenagers are mugged. Every day Labour are confirming their own party's failure on crime and vindicating Boris Johnson's decision to put crime-fighting at the heart of his pitch to London's voters.
Harriet Harman's attempt to defend the photo on Radio 4's Today programme was laughable. She told John Humphrys that you wear a hard hat on a building site and Indian dress when you attend an Indian event. And you wear a stab-proof vest when you visit your own constituency, he sneered!
With Gordon Brown away tomorrow Ms Harman faces William Hague and Vince Cable at PMQs. It could be fun...
