Julia Mulligan chosen as Conservative candidate for North Yorkshire police commissioner
Congratulations to Julia Mulligan who has been chosen as the Conservative candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire. She runs a marketing agency and stood for Leeds North West at the last General Election.
But commiserations to the runner up Peter Walker, a former Deputy Chief Constable, who has written excellent pieces for us on police reform and employment conditions as well as declaring his candidacy here. I hope his willing to write for us didn't seal his fate. Indeed I hope he will continue to do so and that his ideas will have influence in improving policing in North Yorkshire and elsewhere even if he does not have the chance to implement them himself.
