Stirling and Three Rivers latest Council Tax cutters

Lord Forsyth will be pleased. Stirling Council has agreed a 1% Council Tax cut, the first Scottish Council to bring in a reduction for at least four years. The cut was voted through by Labour and Conservative councillors in defiance of the budget proposed by the SNP minority administration. The SNP called it "irresponsible" - I suppose they will also attack it as trivial, inconsequential gesture and make some estimate of how many onions it will buy.

The budget includes the sale of a Local Authority site to Waitrose.

Also the Lib Dem-run Three Rivers District Council is cutting Council Tax by 0.66%. So a small cut but the third year in a row that a reduction has been achieved.
