Council leader accused of fraud steps down

Cllr Milan Radulovic is stepping down as the Labour leader of Broxtowe Borough Council after being accused of receiving an overpayment in his incapacity benefit of £45,511. The allegation is that the overpayment arose because he did not declare council allowances as earnings.

Cllr Radulovic has agreed to "step aside for a short while" at the request of the his coalition partners, the Lib Dems.

His case will be heard at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on March 16.
