Conservative councillor in Plymouth defects to UKIP

Cllr Peter Berrow, who represents Southway Ward on Plymouth City Council, has defected from the Conservatives to UKIP.

Cllr Berrow says he is "frustrated" by the local Conservative councillors and says Plymouth are being "forced to cut vital front line services" due to the £50 million a day that Britain pays the EU.

UKIP claims to have an "army" of councillors. This is something of an exaggeration even when parish councillors are included. When I clicked on the section for London none came up.

They are hoping for defectors over HS2 however.
