Merton Council's absurd "Keep off the Grass" sign

Keep off the grass
I've been away on a family holiday in a Dorset village called Studland this weekend thus I'm afraid Conservative Home missed a scoop about Labour-run Merton Council. This photograph about their "Keep off the Grass" sign was emailed to me on Wednesday. But it has since hit the headlines. Often the phrase "verging on the ridiculous" crops up.

I hope the Council will be shamed into undertaking a thorough decluttering of unnecessary signs.
