Only one council by-election took place yesterday.

It was in the Canons ward in the London Borough of Harrow, and the Conservative candidate held what was a safe seat with a small swing to Labour.

The result was:

Canons ward, Harrow
Con - 1495
Lab - 774
Lib Dem - 236
Con hold
Swing 3.5% Con to Lab

(May 2010 result:  C 3643, 3320, 3047; Lab 1467, 1259, 1219; Lib Dem 1006, 970, 940)

Congratulations to Amir Moshenson, the successful Conservative candidate.
