Conservatives take power in Milton Keynes

Congratulations to Cllr Andrew Geary who is the new Conservative leader of Milton Keynes Council, it had previously been Lib Dem led. In the local elections the Conservatives gained four seats from the Lib Dems and became the largest party, although the Council remained under No Overall Control. Until 2007 the Conservatives were in third place in the number of Council seats - behind Labour as well as the Lib Dems.

Cllr Geary wants to press on quickly with priorities for improving parking and saving libraries and has set the new administration a target of 100 days to achieve results.
