Defections update

A fourth Lib Dem councillor in Eastleigh, Cllr Keith Day, has resigned from the Lib dems to join the Independence Party of Eastleigh. The Lib Dems still have a big majority on the Council where a third of seats are up for election this year.

But a Conservative councillor in Horsham, Cllr Ian Shepherd, has defected to the Lib Dems after being deselected.

The Prime Minister will be pleased that two Town Councillors in Witney have joined the Conservatives - one from the Lib Dems and one who was previously an independent.
