Nottingham City Council's war on conkers

As if to prove Lord Young's point (see post below) Labour-run Nottingham City Council has sent out a cherry-picker and a team of staff to remove every conker from a horse chestnut tree. It happened after an incident when a branch of the tree fell on a girl causing injury. It was a nasty injury but if we want to eliminate risk why not cut off all the branches? Or remove all street trees?

This year Nottingham increased by the Council Tax by 2.9%. This is also the council that banned Shetland ponies from performing in Cinderella.

The Band D Council Tax in Nottingham this year is £1,515.28.  They have used Council Taxpayers money to provide Labour with election advice.

They have refused to adopt spending transparency. A Council spokesman refused to say how much the cherry picker cost.
