Labour councillor in Vale of Glamorgan quits party

Cllr Richard Bertin, has resigned from the Labour Party and will now sit as an independent on Vale of Glamorgan Council. although it sounds as though he has effectively been pushed out.

He claims that he faced "bullying" after being brought before a Welsh Labour Party Disciplinary Committee hearing and warned that his opposition to all women shortlists meant it was "apparent that he did not understand the Party's commitment to equal opportunities."
