DCLG saves £40,000 a year on pot plants

The Daily Express reports that the Department for Communities and Local Government are saving £40,000 by scrapping payments, approved by John Prescott, to a contractor to come in and water them.

Instead civil servants will water the plants on a "voluntary basis."

Local Government Minister Bob Neill says the Government are "rooting out waste" and for Prescott to have been spending so much money on this was "potty."
