Conservatives gain seat in Isle of Wight Council byelection

There was a Council byelection yesterday in the Isle of Wight.

Ryde South.

Con 274 (37.2% + 10.8)

Lab 201 (27.3% +19.2)

Lib Dem 164 (22.3% -11.2)

Independent 97 (13.2% -18.8)

Con gain from Lib Dem

Congratulations to Cllr Gary Taylor. The Conservatives gained the seat from being in third place at the last electio a year ago.

By a bit of a coincidence there was also a byelection in the Isle of Man yesterday for their legislative council, the House of Keys. But the Isle of Man is in rather a different category...
