Wandsworth Conservatives launch manifesto

Wandsworth Conservatves have launched their manifesto for the Council elections and a series of excellent YouTube videos.

The manifesto sets out a range of proposals to boost individual freedom including giving parents power to set up their own schools, expanding Neighbourhood Watch and encouraging greater community activism.

The manifesto also sets out a raft of green measures including aiming to be one of the first London Councils to have zero landfill waste by 2011, boosting recycling levels and creating 1,000 new car club spaces across the Borough.

Cllr Edward Lister, Leader of the Council says:

"For more than 30 years the council has been Conservative run. In that period we have invested heavily in modern public services while delivering the lowest average local taxes in the country. This manifesto offers a really exciting set of policies which continues to give people real value whilst also improving the quality of life for everyone in the Borough."
