The battle for Merton

Merton has a minority Conservative administration. Despite that precarious state of affairs this year they actually achieved a 1.4% Council Tax cut.

So far as the General Election is concerned the Wimbledon constituency has already returned to the Conservative fold. I remember that along with Hove it was a Labour gain that was especially startling in 1997. However the other constituency is Mitcham and Morden is pretty safe Labour territory.

Among our new Council candidates is Miles Windsor who has an excellent blog.
