Labour Group leader in Stoke suspended after hoax phone call

Cllr Mike Barnes, the Labour Group leader on Stoke-on-Trent City Council has been suspended by the Labour Party after making a hoax phone call. It is rather confusing but he seems to admit making a phone call under a false name to Cheshire West and Chester Council and posing as a journalist. There seems to be some dispute over whether he said he was from BBC Radio Stoke or a community news blog called Pits'n'Pots. Or both.
