Shireen Ritchie among those taking on new roles at the Local Government Association

The Local Government Chronicle today brings news of changes to several of the board chairmanships at the Local Government Association.

The following appointments have been announced involving Conservative councillors:

• Shireen Ritchie from Kensington and Chelsea becomes chairman of the children and young people board 
• Gary Porter (South Holland) becomes chairman of the environment board
• Les Lawrence (Birmingham) becomes chairman of the safer communities board
• Paul Bettison (Bracknell Forest) becomes chairman of the Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services 

Meanwhile, David Parsons remains chairman of the improvement board.
