Disappointment for Green Party

There was a small advance for the Green Party in the local elections. They gained five seats in Norfolk which was impressive tally but lost three in Oxfordshire. They have ended up with 18 county councillors which is four more than they had before (and eight times as many as the BNP's total.) The Green Party have a total of 123 councillors altogether.

I was surprised they didn't make more of an advance. They are predominantly socialist in outlook and would have seemed an obvious place for socialist voters dismayed by the Labour Government. Of course they could still do well in the Euros given the fashion for cross voting.
