Conservatives making big gains in Cornwall

Cornwall County Council, as a new unitary council, has no fewer than 123 seats. Under the old Cornwall Council the Lib Dems had a huge lead over the Conservatives of 48 to nine. With 47 seats declared so far the Conservatives already have 21 seats to 15 for the Lib Dems and 10 Independents.
