Labour hold a ward in Manchester in yesterday's only council by-election

As far as I am aware, there was only one council by-election yesterday, in the Moston ward of Manchester City Council. The result was as follows:

Labour - 39% (-14%)
BNP - 23% (+23%)
Lib Dem - 20% (+ 5%)
Conservative - 16% (-7%)
Green - 2% - (-7%)
Labour hold
