Should Town Halls be hired out for "adult comedy"?

Useful revenue can be obtained from hiring out Town Halls and other Council buildings. Given the duty to reduce the Council Tax it makes sense to get as much as possible. But where should we draw the line about events that might be felt unsuitable?

Falkirk Council have decided to go ahead with a comedian and magician called Jerry Sadowitz to put on a show in their Town Hall after reviewing over its "provocative" content. Posters make clear it is for adults only.

Should it be enough for an event to be legal? Or should there be some higher threshold of respectability?
