Tory-run Northamptonshire County Council may scrap speed cameras

Conservative controlled Northamptonshire County Council is reviewing speed cameras.  They may replace them with vehicle activated signs. The Council leader Cllr Jim Harker says:

"I know there have been concerns from the public and the RAC about them. There is evidence that people tend to react quickly to cameras and slow down sharply, creating hazards and possibly accidents."

Last month Swindon scrapped fixed point speed cameras.
