A small clutch of local by-election results from yesterday:

Hale End and Highams Park ward, London Borough of Waltham Forest
LD - 45% (+4)
Con - 40% (+2)
Lab - 9% (-2)
Green - 5% (-4)
Two LD holds

Bingley ward, Bradford
Con - 60% (+7)
Lab - 21% (-1)
LD - 10% (+2)
Others - 9% (-7)

The Three Colnes ward, Braintree
Con - 77% (+25)
Lab - 14% (+4)
Green - 2% (+2)

And one impressive result in a parish council by-election has reached our attention:

Chester Conservatives have gained both available seats in the Huntington parish by-election. James Scargill and Paul Sheen won almost 60% of the vote in a Parish that was the Lib Dems safest only last year. The by-election followed the resignation of two Liberal Democrat Parish Councillors.
