Readers poll. Should I attend this Conference? You decide.

I have been invited to attend (at your expense £250 plus VAT) a conference on December 15 organised by the Local Government Information Unit. A couple of Labour councillors (Cllr Alan Waters from Norwich and Cllr Richard Crawford from Newham) would teach me about "community leadership."

The LGIU says:

"It incorporates strategic leadership and place-shaping, support for partnership working, and promoting inclusive governance through empowerment."

Should I go? Or might it be rather more "empowering" for the downtrodden citizenry of the Ravenscourt Park Ward if rather than forcing them to pay higher Council Tax to enable me to attend I spent the time canvassing and cracking on with the resulting case work?
