Boris delivers on Routemaster buses

The Evening Standard reports that Boris Johnson's pledge to bring back the Routemaster, in a new form, is to be fulfilled:

"TfL will order up to 800 of the open-platform new Routemasters, almost double the expected number. They will serve all central London's busiest routes, not just bendy routes."

Given that there have been plenty of attacks on Boris, both during and after the election, saying that the policy was unrealistic the news that it is not merely being delivered but in even greater numbers than promised is a great boost for him.
