Council by-elections

Here are the results from Council by-election held yesterday. Welcome aboard to Cllr Geoffrey Holdcroft who joins us in Suffolk Coastal.

• Glasgow City - Ballieston: First count SNP 2318, Lab 2167, C 259, Lib Dem 159, Solidarity 74, BNP 73, Scottish Socialist Party 58, Green 45, Scottish Unionist Party 43. (May 2007 - Four seats: First count SNP 3199, Lab 2689, 1342, 739, C 678, Solidarity 466, Lib Dem 392, SNP 250, Scottish Socialist Party 224, Scottish Unionist Party 216, Green 181 - Elected Lab two, SNP two). SNP hold. Swing 7.8% Lab to SNP.
• Leeds City - Farnley and Wortley: Green 1183, Lib Dem 1151, Lab 1009, BNP 556, C 428, Alliance for Green Socialism 45. (May 2008 - Green 2556, Lab 1264, C 859, BNP 793, Lib Dem 233, Alliance for Green Socialism 28). Green hold. Swing 19.8% Green to Lib Dem.  
• Pembrokeshire County - St Dogmaels: Ind 496, Lib Dem 177, No description 160, C 57. (May 2008 - Lib Dem 677, Ind 421). Ind gain from Lib Dem.
• Suffolk Coastal District - Woodbridge Riverside: C 313, Lib Dem 254, Green 57, Lab 56. (May 2007 - C 467,  Lib Dem 208, Green 102, Lab 80). C hold. Swing 10.8% C to Lib Dem.  
• Suffolk County - Woodbridge: Lib Dem 970, C 826, Ind 378, Lab 147. (May 2005 - C 1720, Lib Dem 1698, Lab 884). Lib Dem gain from C. Swing 3.3% C to Lib Dem.
