BNP continue to advance in local by-elections

No wins/ losses in the latest local four by-election results.  The persistence/ growth of the BNP is the most notable feature:

• Newbarns – Barrow-in-Furness DC (Barrow and Furness) – Con hold.  Con vote 52% +11, Lab 19% no change, IND 17% down 23, BNP 11% from nowhere.
• Broughton Astley (Broughton) – Harborough DC (South Leicestershire) – Con hold.  We were unopposed in the by-election last time was Con 65%, Ind 35%.
• Waterloo – Havant DC (Meon Valley) – Con hold.  Con vote 49% -18, Lab 5% -7, Lib Dem 46% +25.
• Melton Egerton – Melton DC (Rutland and Melton) – Lab hold. Con vote 24% +1, Lab 43% -4, BNP 32% +3
