Labour MP wonders out loud, why are "parasitical elements of press" allowed in Parliament?
There's a slight fin de siècle feel about events this morning. It sounds as though the Daily Mail is moving some of its operations abroad. Peter Oborne is resigning from the National Union of Journalists. And now we have words of the Labour MP Jim Sheridan, as reported by James Chapman, above.
Yet perhaps we shouldn't read too much into the words of one MP. After all, politicians say and do irritating, blockheaded things all of the time – and Mr Sheridan certainly has form.
