Has Lord Ahmed sold his house yet?

The Labour peer Lord Ahmed is in a spot of bother this morning after reportedly claiming that his prison sentence for dangerous driving, after he sent text messages shortly before his car was involved in a fatal motorway crash, resulted from pressure placed on the courts by Jews “who own newspapers and TV channels”.  According to the Times (£), he also alleged that the judge who jailed him for 12 weeks was appointed to the High Court after helping a “Jewish colleague” of Tony Blair during “an important case".  The paper says that "he claimed, falsely, that Mr Justice Wilkie was hand-picked and sent from London to carry out the 2009 sentencing at Sheffield Crown Court because no other judge was willing to handle his case".

It adds that he made the comments during a television interview on a visit to Pakistan.  This isn't the first time that Lord Ahmed has got into hot water abroad.  (I am not referring to his visit to the Sudan with Sayeeda Warsi to intervene in the teddy bear blasphemy case.)  For it was in Pakistan that he said that George W Bush should be prosecuted for war crimes.

“Even if I have to beg I am willing to raise and offer £10 million so that George W Bush and Tony Blair can be brought to the International Court of Justice on war crimes charges," he was reported as saying. "Even if I have to sell my house I am ready to do it.”  I will avoid the murky territory of  Lord Ahmed's future in the Labour Party.  But I am curious to know how he's getting on with raising that £10 million, whether he has sold his house, and whether he has been seen begging in the streets.  Naturally, this site is concerned about his welfare, and readers are welcome to report any sightings of this noble peer of the realm pleading for money to fund his even more noble cause.
