Frank Field and Kate Hoey nominate arch Left-winger John McDonnell for Labour leader
Ask any Conservative to identify the Labour MP they most admire and the two names most likely to be mentioned are Frank Field and Kate Hoey - and quite right too.
So Tory admirers of the duo will be somewhat alarmed to see that they have both nominated the veteran Campaign Group member and arch Left-winger John McDonnell for the Labour leadership.
All three were regular rebels against the last Labour Government, but coming from rather different political perspectives.
Are Field and Hoey seriously endorsing McDonnell's candidacy or are they just sportingly nominating him to try and ensure that he is able to join the contest?
