Outgoing Labour MP backing Respect candidate against former parliamentary colleague

Picture 14 I've only just clocked this story from the Birmingham Post earlier in the campaign - about the retiring Labour MP who is backing the hard-Left Respect at the general election.

Lynne Jones was MP for Birmingham Selly Oak from 1992 until her retirement at this election.

She lives in the redrawn Birmingham Hall Green constituency where the Labour candidate is Roger Godsiff, who entered the Commons on the same day as her in 1992, latterly representing the Birmingham Sparkbrook and Small Heath constituency.

However, she is refusing to vote for him and has instead reportedly pledged her support to Salma Yaqoob, the candidate for Respect.
